This is a diverse and interesting role that will involve heading up and being an integral part of the Chalet Carcajou team as well as working with the Resort Managers and Flexi-hosts. You will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of staff performance and chalet presentation are maintained. In this role you are required to have had previous experience in hospitality and catering, have a strong sense of team work and can easily communicate with other team members and guests. A keen eye for detail and presentation is essential and a positive, proffessional manner is required at all times.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Pre-season set up of chalet with the Resort Managers.

  2. Involvement in staff training.

  3. During evening service you will assist the other host on duty and chef in the chalet with drinks service, guest hosting & laying the table, serving at table and general kitchen help, washing up etc. Evening bedroom turndown service is offered to guests.

  4. Cover on chefs day off (with another member of staff)- Breakfast service to include preparing and cooking breakfast, housekeeping and driving duties. Evening drinks and turndown service. No dinner is served on the chefs day off so we offer a minibus service to restaurants if required.

  5. Driving duties- staff to/from chalets and guest driving to/from chalet as part of a rota.

  6. Assist chef with chalet shopping to the local supermarket.

  7. Assisting with and overseeing food and beverage stock control.

  8. Chalet linen, counting in clean linen and ensuring all linen to be sent and counted correctly, paper work completed and linen bagged up correctly.

  9. Chalet maintenance- Generally ensuring any items that need attention are dealt with efficiently & quickly.

  10. Daily chalet check to ensure standards of cleanliness and chalet presentation is always at a very high level. Feedback to Resort Managers and chalet staff. If problems occur ensuring the staff understand how to resolve them and supervising the staff regularly until a satisfactory result is achieved.

  11. Guest liaison- be available to offer information and assistance which will enhance their holiday experience with Ski Cuisine. In particular ensuring restaurants are booked if required, advice on local resort events, ski hire, ski guiding booked etc.

  12. To provide staff cover in case of illness or injury. This may include cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner so it is vital to be able to cook to a high standard.

  13. Discuss with the Resort Manager and the Chalet Carcajou team regarding transfer day planning, guest arrivals information etc.
